SUNY Orange Symphonic Band will be presenting their Fall performance "Remember..." this Saturday evening at the Paramount Theatre in Middletown. This is a special event because it features music that was inspired by Autumn and the historic flight of the Vin Fiz.
For those of you who participated in the creative aeronautic activities with Summer school, you might be interested in learning more! Others may be curious to learn a little of the history of Cal Rodgers' cross country flight, and his stop here in Middletown.
From 7:15 to 7:45 we will have a pre-concert discussion regarding the genesis of the Cal Rodgers/Vin Fiz flight, and all audience members are welcome to attend. The guest panel will be John Wolbeck, Linda and Ed Dubin and Jared Cowing.
General admission is $5.00, SUNY Orange students and active military are free. I hope to see some of you there! |

Do you have an instrument collecting dust in the attic? Maybe you know someone who does? If so, we ask that you please consider donating it to the Middletown Music Department. Every year, we have students who want to play an instrument but cannot afford to rent or purchase one. When this occurs, the Music Department works to find an available instrument that they can borrow. When an instrument is donated, it is sent to a repairman to check out and make sure it is in playing condition. Then it is given to a needy child. If you have such an instrument and would like to help, please contact the district's music dept. chair, Tonie DePasquale at 326-1755 or adepasquale@ecsdm.org |
